The property on which Ayala Alabang currently sits on was formerly owned by the Madrigal family. The Ayala Corporation was bought in the year 1972 when the Madrigal family offered it for sale. After much discussion, the Madrigal Family conceded to the terms laid down by the Ayala Corporation in 1975 and work on the property officially began. Long before the construction concluded, there were solid bookings for various plots of the land. Even at that time, the Ayala Corporation had huge experience in the construction business and real estate development. Thus, they knew that the best strategy to proceed with construction of the village would be to split the work in phases. In 1077, the first slot of plots went for sale and Mr. Jose Escalante along with his wife Mrs. Joselito Santos and Mr. Howard Newhard were the first people to move into the houses constructed in the first phase. The completion of the first phase was followed by the creation of the Barangay and the appointment of the first chairman, Don Enrique Zobel in the year 1981. Though over the years, many chairmen have come and went, but all of them happened to have the same goal in their mind, which is to turn Ayala into a world class location.
- Ayala Alabang, currently spans across an area of over 694 hectares and is home to over 40, 000 people. However, given the rate of rapid construction and development, it is hard to see these numbers remaining stable. The community also sports the famous Ayala Alabang Country Club. People would be interested in knowing that this was the first club in the country that introduced Polo, Golf and other sports. In fact, many people consider it as the biggest sports location in the entire South East Asia. The Alabang Riding School is not far away from this club. It is the only club to have opened in the company since 1980.
- As far as schools go, most parents would find themselves spoilt for choice. Prominent among them is the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School and the PAREF Woodrose School. Moreover, this location also sports some famous churches like the St. Susana Parish Church and the St. James Great Parish Church. The local corporation manages the Alabang Commercial Center, which is situated within the village. It covers an area of 17.5 hectares. No wonder it is the largest commercial property in Metro Manila. When the first phase opened up in the year 1982, at which time it included a bakery, drug store, book store, food establishments and a supermarket. Presently, the Ayala Corporation is involved in the construction of employee housing units. This is an experimental project that would allow both high ended people and low income people to get access to the same facilities. The houses are being developed in a Mediterranean style. The residents collect in the Barangay Hall for discussing matters pertinent to the community. This is situated on the Palawan Street near the Barangay Office.
